| Batman
Begins/Batman - Gotham Knight |
|

|
Release Date: July 14 2008
Classification: 15
Studio: Warner Home Video
Christopher Nolan (Memento, Insomnia) directs this
prequel to the Batman films based on the DC Comics series.
Abandoning the cartoony feel of Batman’s previous
cinematic incarnations, Batman Begins has a
far more sinister air. Bale delivers an intelligent
performance, matched only by Cillian Murphy’s
blue-blooded mastermind Dr. Crane. The plot is dense,
the characters fully fleshed and the action, a whirlwind
of high-tech spectacle. This release also includes the
animated spin-off Gotham Knight.

| National
Treasure/National Treasure 2 - Book Of Secrets |
|
|
Release Date: July 15 2008
Classification: PG
Studio: Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment
A double box set of Jerry Bruckheimer-produced ‘comedic
action thrillers’ National Treasure and
its sequel National treasure: Book Of Secrets.
Nicholas Cage is Ben Gates, a nifty cryptologist and
treasure hunter who engages in a ludicrous if entertaining
search for the whereabouts of a war chest hidden by
America’s forefathers in film one, and who is
charged with protecting family honour in the franchise’s
second outing. Enjoyable, wiry and just a little bit
silly.

Studio: 2 Entertain Video
The Orphanage is a chilling supernatural thriller.
Produced by Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth),
the film is the work of a surprisingly inexperienced
group of film makers - director Juan Antonio Bayona,
screenwriter Sergio G. Sanchez, director of photography
Oscar Faura, and composer Fernando Velazquez. The story
follows Laura as she returns to the manor where she
was raised as an orphan with her husband Carlos and
adopted child Simon. Laura wants to restore the abandoned
house as a refuge for ill children. But then she starts
to be visited by the children she used to play with.
Simon goes missing one afternoon, with terrifying results
as Laura battles reality and her tortured imagination.

Direct-to-DVD film written by Brad Wright and directed
