| Mostly
Autumn - Glass Shadows |
|

|
Released on 16/06/2008
British band, Mostly Autumn, release their 8th studio
album, Glass Shadows, this month. Their music
has always been heavily influenced by progressive rock
and folk. However, Glass Shadows reveals a
new, organic sound, reminiscent of the band’s
earlier material, a fact attributed to band members,
Heather and Bryan, retreating to the Lake District for
inspiration. The album was recorded at Fairview Studios
and features artwork designed by Richard Nagy, who created
the artwork for Odin Dragonfly's Offerings
(2007). This is the first Mostly Autumn album to feature
Anne-Marie Helder on flutes and Henry Bourne on drums.

| The
Offspring - Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace |
|

|
Released on 16/06/2008
The Offspring are one of the seminal punk acts of all
time, having released 7 studio albums, 1 compilation,
3 EPs and 3 DVD's, and having sold over 34 million albums
worldwide. They are widely considered a punk rock group,
but their music extends to include grunge, metal, skater
punk, and occasionally ska.
Wikapedia provides the invaluable insight that many
of their songs contain refrains of ‘whoas’
in either their verses or choruses, one of the band’s
hallmarks apparently.

Crüe- Saints of Los Angeles |
|

|
Released on 24/06/2008
The Crüe’s new album is loosely based on
their infamous memoir, The Dirt, which was
published in 2001 and is rumoured for release as a major
film in 2009. Saints of Los Angeles is the
first to feature all four original members of the Crüe
since 1997's Generation Swine. The album’s
release date was set back a week when the band decided
to record a new song called 'Goin’ Out Swingin’'.
The song came about as a result of the group's recent
press conference, in which it announced this summer's
Crüe Fest tour with Papa Roach, Buckcherry,
Trapt and Sixx. A.M. As Sixx explains, "We were
firing on all cylinders at sound check just jamming
out, and that's when the new idea came. It's the ultimate
song to end the record with and begin the new chapter
of our career."
Short audio samples of all 13 tracks that are set to
appear on the U.S. version of Saints of Los Angeles
are available on www.amazon.com
Crüe Fest will kick off on July 1 in
West Palm Beach, Florida, hitting 40 cities before wrapping
up in late August.
